So how does a happily married man go about describing the wonders of the women’s triangle bikini? A triangle bikini is a bikini where the top piece, and the bottom piece, are all made from separate triangle shaped pieces. So the triangle bikini top is two triangles and so is the bottom. Well, sometimes the bottom is a triangle in the front and a thong in the back which really doesn’t count as a triangle. But, for the most part, that is how you determine if a bikini is a triangle bikini or not. These days it seems like the triangles are getting smaller and smaller.

Being a guy I have no idea if wearing a triangle bikini is comfortable or not. However I see women wearing triangle bikini tops all summer long with shorts as the pants so the bikinis must be comfortable if women wear them all day long. They come in all sorts of designs but the most popular pattern seems to be polka dots. I’m not sure if that song “Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini” has anything to do with the popularity but I do see an awful lot of polka dot triangle bikinis out there. I can tell you ladies that, from a guy’s perspective, if you are going for a sexy summer look with your triangle bikini then mission accomplished. Nothing says sexy in the summer quite like a triangle bikini.

As I sit here and do some research for this article by leafing through pages and pages of triangle bikini pictures I do notice that there are some conservative triangle bikini designs. Some of the triangle bikinis almost could be considered a one piece bathing suit with as much area as they cover. So I am led to believe that, for the ladies, a triangle bikini could be about showing off in the summer but it appears to be ultimately about comfort. If a lady feels more comfortable showing off a little more with some smaller triangles then she is welcome to. However if there are ladies that prefer to wear a little more coverage then that is an option as well. Ladies swim wear has certainly come a long way from when I was a kid.

I remember looking at old pictures of the one piece bathing suits of the 1920’s and thinking of the scandals they caused because of all of the female leg those suits showed. Then in the 1950’s the bathing suits started to get a little more form fitting and once more an uproar came from the conservative masses. Sometimes I wonder what a religious man from the 1920’s would think if he was able to come to this time and see the triangle bikini. Could be that he would go back to the 1920’s and proclaim that the world will come to an in the 21st century. Or maybe he would see the true beauty, and understand the comfort, of a triangle bikini and then maybe he would understand that progress for a culture can come in many wonderful forms.
